Teeth Whitening

There may be nothing we take for granted more than a beautiful set of pearly white teeth! With the everyday vices of sodas, coffee or your day to day meals, keeping them as clean and white between dentist visits can be tough. Fortunately, there are some great products on the market that offer assistance to help keep your teeth white when brushing, flossing and mouthwash isn’t enough!

Below we rate and review a variety of different products available on the market, and give you some feedback to consider on your next purchase.

1Crest 3D White Professional Effects

Whitestrips with Advanced SealThis product was one of our favourites that we liked out of the bunch. The application was fairly easy, and the instructions were straightforward as well. We found that it was able to whiten the shade of teeth by more than one shade on average. The application needs 20 days to take effect, and we have heard some users complain about sensitivity with their teeth. If tooth sensitivity is an issue for you, perhaps look at one of the other options.

2Crest 3D White 2 Hour Express Whitestrips

Now if you’re looking for something quicker than the long term solution outlined above, this may be a better option for you with the 2 Hour Express Whitestripes from Crest. These can be used ahead of a special event or unexpected party, and we found to help whiten teeth by at least one shade. The downside is that it does require two consecutive hours to use, and may leave your teeth sensitive as well. However, if you’re in a pinch, this certainly is a good product to recommend!

3GO SmiLE Smile Whitening Light System

Now for those looking for something different than the adhesive strips that are most commonly used by folks looking to whiten their teeth, this product from GO works differently. It’s a similar single use application, where users apply a peroxide gel onto their teeth, and then hold a LED light to their teeth for about 10 minutes. You then repeat the process, for 3 rotations until complete. The kit comes with enough to have 3 total applications, so you can use it a few times. Although the price is steeper than the others we tested, this did come out as being the one product with the least amount of issues for those with sensitive teeth!

4Super smile Professional Whitening System

This system is from Supersmile is one that is a great alternative from the typical strips for those who suffer from sensitive teeth issues. This gel simply gets brushed onto your teeth twice a day with regular brushing and does a good job removing any of the surface stains you may have.

5Ultradent Opalescence PF Teeth Whitening Gel

This is up there with the first product we reviewed as one of the best at home whitening products that you can buy. This product uses specially made trays from your dentist, and produces very effective whitening results. You wear this tray with the gel lined within it, and creates results to work to whiten your teeth overnight. Although you have to make a stop at the dentist for the product, the results are truly fantastic!

6Dr. Song Teeth Whitening Kit

This last product on our list is a full kit from a little-known offering of the Dr. Song Home Professional Teeth Whitening Kit. This kit comes with a mouth tray, syringe kit with lay, and gel applicator. The mouth tray moulds easily to fit your mouth, and then you syringe the product onto a tray, where you then use an applicator brush to apply a thin layer directly onto your teeth. It sounds extensive with many steps, but the results are truly extraordinary. It comes with an LED light that sits in your mouth to activate the gel solution, and after 20 minutes, the session is complete. Reviewers rave about the results, and the price point is fairly competitive with the other offerings discussed.

All in all, some decent considerations are that for best results, you may need to spend the money and visit your dentist’s office for a referral or service there. When it comes to the take home options, stick to the strips that adhere directly to your teeth over the trays, as the close contact with the teeth tends to leave a better result.
