On the night of April 14-15, 276 female students were kidnapped from the Government Secondary School. Boko Haram was responsible for the kidnapping, and the students were forced to make a conversion to Islam and into marriage. 219 girls are still missing.

An explosion at a coal mine caused a fire, which burned for two days. 301 people died this tragedy, but many officials say that the number of deaths was actually higher.
